Gobar means animal dung in Hindi. All of rural India uses it in a variety of ways. Ways that exemplify sustainable existence. That's why we use it, too.

Methods of Rainwater Harvesting

Method I: Storage
In places where it rains very frequently like Kerala and Meghalaya, rainwater can be harvested by the storage method. In this method, we collect rain water falling on the roof through a pipe which goes down to a storage tank. The water of the first rains are let out as the first flush.

Method II: Recharge
In regions where we get rainfall only during a few months of the year, we collect rainwater indirectly through the recharge method. Rainwater falling on the roof is carried through a pipe to an underground filtering tank, from where it goes into the recharge well and recharges the ground water.
