Gobar means animal dung in Hindi. All of rural India uses it in a variety of ways. Ways that exemplify sustainable existence. That's why we use it, too.

PLASTICS

PLASTPATS

palastic.jpg We heard of an exhibition called Plastindia being held in Pragati Maidan in our city, New Delhi. Like Alice, we (a group of twenty-two children from six schools) too were curious. Plastindia? Is this India made of Plastic, much like our barbie dolls and GI Joes?

The Centre for Science and Environment took us around, and let us loose. "Please let us work by ourselves", we told them, and that's what they did. We met ragpickers, manufacturers, recyclers, consumers, journalists, plastic promoters. Heard every bit they had to say. And now we give you this special edition of Gobar Times. THIS is what we have to say.
