It is a reality. Since the industrial revolution we have been pumping monstrous quantities of carbon di oxide(CO2) and other green house gases in the air. Result? The planet has heated up like a ggarden green house.

Read carefully. This story, of course, but I am not talking of that alone. Take a little time to read that tiny sticker behind the notebook you just purchased. Also on the packet of chips, your mobile phone, and every product you buy! Why? Because it will tell you what the salesman wouldn’t.

Close your eyes. Well, imagine that you have closed them, ok? Now create this image in your mind. Its a simmering summer day in Delhi, and you are crossing one of the city’s busiest traffic junctions. You are in a hurry and panting hard as you rush along. Then you pause for a moment to take a deep breath.

Who lives in a city? Lakhs and lakhs of human beings, of course. After all the urban habitat is designed, built, and developed for them and by them. But they are by no means the only inhabitants in these man-made, concrete-lined spaces. Many, many other species nudge, jostle, and struggle with them everyday, to find a little room here.
