Old PCs pile up and pollute landfills. So Mitsubishi (Japan) and IBM (USA) have started recycling used computers to fill potholes on city streets and to make industrial-grade flooring. The chips are salvaged and resold for use inside handheld games and electronic plush dolls.

TRANSMITTING TURTLE
‘Chandra’ is the first sea turtle in India to be watched from space. In April, ‘Chandra’ was released into the Bay of Bengal by wildlife biologists with a satellite transmitter fitted on its back, to track its movements in the ocean. These sea faring creatures roam far and wide.
