War is terrorism
Globalisation and neo-liberalism are intimately connected to war. The arms lobby is
exerting more influence over policymaking than at any time since President Dwight D.
Eisenhower first warned of the dangers of the military-industrial complex in 1961
the intertwined relationship between Private corporations, armed forces and federal
government and the enormous power they wield. Exploiting the fears following 9/11,
and impervious to budgetary constraints imposed on virtually every other form of federal
spending, the ideologue-industry nexus is driving the United States to war in Iraq and a
permanently aggressive war-fighting posture that will simultaneously starve other
government programs and make the world a much more dangerous place.

Get off our backs
Multi-nationals edge people off their lands, so that they can grow and sell cheap cash
crops all year round. Governments protect their oil supplies at all costs so that nobody
need catch a bus to go to work. Obviously the poor can't enjoy a Western Lifestyle, that's
because the Rich already consume more than fair share. Consurmerism is the 'real thing'
for the Rich. For the rest? Piss off.

Don't
owe, won't pay
Third World debt is illegitimate, immoral, unjust and fraudulent. It functions not as a
means of transferring assets or technology but as usury, entrapment, control and
domination. ...the debt has been paid many times over. In 1980, the total debt stock of
South countries stood at US$567 billion. Since then, US$3,450 billion has been repaid in
interest and principal six times the 1980 level. Nonetheless, Third World debt
currently stands at US$2,070 billion. (Jubilee South)IS A JUST

Unfair
Trade
Trade is a powerful engine of economic growth, however, it can also fuel massive
inequalities. The 48 least-developed countries, home to 10 per cent of the worlds
citizens, have seen their share of world exports decline to a tiny 0.4 per cent over the
past two decades. In comparison, the US and EU contain roughly the same number of people,
yet account for nearly 50 per cent of world exports. Trade liberalisation,
enforced by the World Trade Organisation makes it increasingly difficult for small traders
to compete. Free trade is supposedly in the interests of increased
competition, but when multinational companies are able to benefit from subsidies and
protections denied to small economies this competition is unfair. (Oxfam)

Gobblelisation
In many ways, the term "globalization" is a smokescreen to disguise the
real nature of the capitalist system. The term which best defines today's capitalism,
characterized by the export of capital from the advanced countries and the accompanying
international exploitation of the working class and the peoples of the world by a few
superpowers and multinational companies, is imperialism. (Youth for International

Truth
Media empires rule our minds. Number of media tycoons in the US are down from 400 to just
18 today. Number of news agencies have reduced from seven to three, meaning people are
recieving news from fewer sources. Iraq surrendered to shock and awe, so did truth and
commitment to justice.IS AN ALTERNATIVE MEDIA POSSIBLE? |
Our Commons
Water, land, food, forests, seeds, culture and peoples identitiesare common
assets of humanity for present and future generations.
It is essential to preserve biodiversity. People have the right to safe and permanent
food free from genetically modified organisms. Food sovereignty at the local, national,
regional level is a basic human right; in this regard, democratic land reforms and
peasants access to land are fundamental requirements.
