Gobar Times Green Schools Programme 2009-10

Its time for the schools to gear up once again, audit their school's environment to find out how green it is!

Schools in Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands will have their own versions of it this year. The 2009-10 GSP awards will not only feature the top 20 Green schools of the ountry, but also the top 20 schools from these five states. The GSP launch in Delhi on November 10, 2009 announced a rolling trophy that will be awarded by Ms. Shiela Dixit, Chief Minister of Delhi. It will go to the best participant in the capital.

As usual, schools will audit their resource management in terms of Waste, Water, Energy, Land and Air. Students will lead the audit with help from their teachers and school authorities.

Audit reports from across the country will have to be submitted by January 1, 2010. The GTGSP awards festival will be held on February 5,
2010 in New Delhi.
