I AM MOVING

caravansHello all,

Caravans. Carts or carriages towed by camels, donkeys or horses that can be 'lived in'. Yes, the word 'nomads' conjures up a vision of a row of moving homes, doesn't it? These folks move round the year-within a certain area. But they never set up a permanent dwelling. Have you ever wondered why?

Nah…its not because they are always looking out for new adventures. You see, 'moving' is how they earn their living. They move in search of pastures for their animals, or they move to sell their goods and services to people who are 'settled' in villages and cities. In the past people swore by their herbal drugs, their music; stocked homes with everything they offered-from iron tools to spices.

But now, things have changed. How? Cheap factory-made goods. Allopathic pills. Televisions and radios. No wonder their skills and crafts are no longer in demand.

I have decided to go in search of these folks whom we seem to have left behind. Want to come with me?
